Redmond Non-Profit Fights Human Trafficking

REDMOND, OR -- The Redmond-based organization, In Our Backyard, has dedicated many years to prevention of human trafficking. Executive Director Nita Belles says one form of trafficking is for labor and the other is for sex trafficking. She says both forms of trafficking are designed to make money for the perpetrators. Belles says traffickers use social media to target young people, particularly girls. She urges parents to educate their children about the dangers of social media, which is the most common way traffickers reach out to lure their victims.
