BEND, OR -- The United Way Campaign serves 26 non-profit organizations that provide a wide range of social services in Central Oregon. Executive Director Ken Wilhelm says they look for social service organizations that build resiliency and how well they work with other social service organizations. Wilhelm says this is important for organizations serving children who have experienced poverty, a parent in prison or, domestic violence. He says the United Way has a fund raising goal of 1-point-25-million dollars and at this time they’ve raised about 450-thousand dollars.
