Former Crook County Inmate Alleges Sheriff's Department Withheld Medications

A former Crook County jail inmate intends to sue the sheriff saying he was not provided medication for his ailments. His allegation is one of several recent claims that jail staff reportedly withheld medical care from some inmates. Central Oregon Daily's reports Sheriff John Gautney took to social media to dispute the allegations in a letter to citizens of Crook County. He says every inmate is asked if they have medical issues, and are monitored by a nurse, if their condition warrents the need. Gautney says statements made on social media are exaggerations and, in some cases, totally false.
