BEND, OR -- The Deschutes and Ochocco National Forests have Christmas Tree Permits for sale. Kassidy Kern at the Deschutes says there’s a new way to buy and pay for the permit. She says, the Deschutes is part of a 13 forest pilot project that allows people to get their Christmas tree permit online. Permits cost $5 each. Kern also says if there is a 4th grader in your family they can get a free Christmas tree permit. She says all they have to do is print a paper voucher from the Every Kid Outdoors website and present it at the Forest Service office.
