Redmond City Council To Consider Roundabout & Snow Removal Machine Purchase

REDMOND, OR -- The Redmond City Council meets tonight at 6-o’clock. On the agenda is a request by Redmond Airport to buy two snow removal machines at a cost of 1-point-3-million dollars. The two machines would replace four machines staffed by four people. Commercial airports are under federal regulation to clear runways and other important areas within 30 minutes. Also on the agenda is a request for an exemption from competitive bidding for a roundabout project at South Canal Boulevard and Pumice Avenue.  The estimated cost of the roundabout is 660-thousand dollars. By exempting the project from the competitive low bid process, Redmond can consider the complexity and other variables. South Canal Boulevard is one of Redmond’s most heavily traveled arterial streets.
