SUNRIVER, OR -- The Deschutes National Forest is going to expand a trail from the Sunriver area and connect it took trails west of Bend. Kassidy Kern at the Deschutes says the trail will be designed to move the people who use it from elk habitat areas. She says the new Sunriver Trail will accommodate mountain bike and horseback riders and hikers. The Deschutes is partnering with Central Oregon Trail Alliance and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife to design and build the new trail.
