BEND, OR -- The Deschutes County Farm Bureau has several scholarships available to high school students who are thinking about careers in agriculture. The Farm Bureau is offering two, one-thousand-dollar scholarships, open to students whose families are voting or supporting members of Deschutes County Farm Bureau. The Farm Bureau’s Rep Tom Maddux says, they also have two additional scholarships for FFA students. He says those FFA kids in Deschutes County who are interesting in a scholarship, should talk to their advisors. Maddux noted that with the changing times, he’d like to see more young people get involved in agriculture and help preserve some of the traditions of farming
