City Council Approves Development Code Changes

BEND, OR -- The Bend City Council has voted to change development codes to spur urban housing. City Manager Eric King says code changes will remove barriers to development, including housing, around 3rd Street near downtown. He says they reached out to property owners for input asking which projects could pencil out. King says the 3rd Street area housing would likely be apartments, multi-family and townhomes, and development could begin in April after code changes take effect.
