LA PINE, OR -- La Pine fire crews were called to the scene of as wood shake roof fire Wednesday morning. Fire Chief Mike Supkis says when they arrived a neighbor had a garden hose and was fighting the fire. The blaze destroyed a portion of the roof…again. Supkis says the homeowner was lucky for a second time because the exact same type of fire at the same home on Patken Circle occurred there in May of 2012. Supkis strongly urges homeowners in Central Oregon to replace wood shake roofs.
