BEND, OR -- Mountain View High has attracted a lot of student interest in agriculture through its National Future Farmers of America program. FFA Advisor Jeff Papke says they have 165 students in the program and he says the biggest benefit is how students learn about the real life realities of farming and ranching. Papke says although many FFA students may not end up owning a farm or ranch, many go on to become educators while others wind up working in businesses that directly serve the agriculture community.
