BEND, OR -- The marches and demonstrations against police brutality in the wake of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis have reached into Central Oregon. Prineville and Bend both had small turnouts last Saturday, but the crowd increased substantially for a march held yesterday. It started around 12:30 from the area of McMenamin's and moved north to the Courthouse. The crowd was estimated to be well over a thousand. There was a lot of chanting and shouting but generally everyone was well-behaved.
