Deschutes County Virus Cases Spike Due to Labor Day & Travel

BEND, OR -- Deschutes County has seen a spike in virus cases since Labor Day. Public Health Director Nahad Sadr-Azodi told county commissioners people who travel are at a higher risk of getting or transmitting the virus. He says contact tracers have found more than one-third of the September virus cases were among people who have travelled. Sadr-Azodi also says there has been an increase in virus cases with unknown linkages, which he called “scary, not good.” He says without knowing the source of infection it becomes more difficult to prevent virus spread.
