BEND, OR -- The United Way of Central Oregon has kicked off their annual fundraising campaign with some changes due to COVID-19. Diana Frischetti at United Way says this year’s campaign doesn’t have a goal because this year is so different. She says they want to see how things shake-out as they try to raise money. Frischetti says before the pandemic nearly 40-per cent of Central Oregonians were already living on the edge, facing challenges with housing, employment, food, child care and health care. She says now, with the pandemic, the needs have increased tremendously.
