The High Desert Food & Farm Alliance has been awarded a multi-year federal agriculture department grant to help beginning farmers and ranchers. Annie Nichols is Farm & Ranch Support Manager for the alliance and says the grant will help teach everything from livestock management to organic certification and agri-tourism. She says the grant will also help the Central Oregon Veterans Ranch and provide outreach to vets interested in a career in agriculture.
