A horrifying experience for spectators and a horrible tragedy on opening night at the 2021 Crooked River Roundup in Prineville – one of the jockeys died Wednesday night at the track.  The jockey reportedly fell off of the horse as it leaned to the left close to the railing.  Prineville Police say it’s the first tragedy at the track in more than forty years.  Racing had just started up again after a year-long suspension because of the pandemic.
