The City of Bend is seeking feedback on proposed housing code changes that would allow homeless shelters in most areas of city. An interactive, online tool called “Houselessness in the City of Bend,” explains the homeless shelter types and is available in English and Spanish through November 1st. The proposed amendments were developed by a City-Manager-appointed group called “the Sounding Board to House Our Neighbors.” In November, the Sounding Board will review the public feedback and further refine recommendations for January committee meetings and a public hearing.
