The Cole Loop Trail has been rerouted over concerns about a target shooting area alongside the trail. Complaints from hikers and horseback riders prompted the decision by the Crooked River National Grassland to move the trail. The Skull Hollow Trailhead will be used as a day-use site, with no overnight camping allowed. About two miles of the Cole Loop Trail will be rerouted. Forest Service officials said they believe it's the best solution.
