The first ever local Civic Assembly presented 23 recommendations to address youth homelessness Thursday night, to the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council.

The group says revamping the foster care system is a top priority. They hope COIC will help tackle transportation needs.

COIC, along with the City of Bend, Deschutes County and other organizations partnered to form the Central Oregon Civic Action Project to address major community challenges through the civic assembly.
