An 18-year-old Bend resident is hospitalized after being shot last night in the Safeway East parking lot on NE Highway 20.

Bend Police responded to reports of an assault just and shooting just after 6 p.m.

Officers say the suspect remains at large but believe this was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.

Detectives are actively investigating, and a large police presence was on the scene late into the evening.
