Deschutes County deputies are investigating after the body of 42-year-old Christi Mitchell was found early Wednesday near Bowery Lane and Grandview Drive, just north of Bend.
Stephen Mitchell, 45, was taken into custody at the scene and is facing multiple charges, including second-degree murder and evidence tampering. Law enforcement agencies, including Oregon State Police and local fire officials, are assisting with the ongoing investigation.
Mitchell is being held without bail in the Deschutes County jail.
