Chris Young allowed three runs on five hits over six innings for Seattle, who ended the first half of the season eight games behind the first-place A's. Robinson Cano had an RBI in the first inning for the Mariners' only run. The Major League All-Star game will be played Tuesday night in Minneapolis.
