(Portland, OR) -- The Portland Timbers continue to pick up steam in CONCACAF Champions League play, after shutting out Alpha United of Guyana, 6-0. Jack Jewsbury and Gaston Fernandez scored goals in the first half. Norberto Paparatto scored twice in the second half, and Michael Nanchoff and Fanendo Adi each tallied one goal. The Timbers are in sole possession of first place in their three-team group and will play their final match in the group phase on October 21st in Honduras, against CD Olimpia.
