(Vancouver, British Columbia)  --  All eight of the Portland Thorns currently competing in the FIFA Women's World Cup are advancing to the knockout stage.  The USA, Canada and Germany, which feature a combined six Thorns on their respective rosters, advanced to the knockout round as the first place teams in their groups.  Alex Morgan and Tobin Heath are members of the U.S. Women's team.
