Adams Practices With Ducks; Griffin tries out Cornerback

(Eugene, OR)  --  Quarterback Vernon Adams practiced with the Oregon Ducks for the first time over the weekend.  The fifth-year senior was declared eligible to transfer from Eastern Washington after passing one final math test.  Adams is expected to compete with Jeff Lockie for the starting quarterback job.  Coach Mark Helfrich said he hopes to name a starter by opening week.  The Ducks kick off the season against Adams' former school on September 5th. Oregon quarterback Ty Griffin is trying out a new position.  The redshirt sophomore practiced as a cornerback during practice on Saturday.  Vernon Adams, Jeff Lockie, Taylor Alie and two others are all currently competing for reps at QB.
