(Carson, CA)  --  The Portland Timbers are in fourth place in the Western Conference standings, following a 5-2 win over the L.A. Galaxy.  The Timbers surged for five scores in the second half to beat the defending MLS Cup champs.  Two of those goals were off the foot of Fanendo Adi.  Portland will need only a draw at home next Sunday against Colorado to clinch a playoff berth.
