(Portland, OR)  --  Portland's Fanendo Adi scored his league-leading eighth goal of the season but it wasn't enough as the Timbers fell to New York City FC, 2-1, at Providence Park.  David Villa gave NYC a 1-nil lead at the half.  The Timbers rallied to tie it with Adi's equalizer 10 minutes into the second half.  Thomas McNamara scored the game-winner for New York in the 65th minute.  The Timbers fell to 3-6-and-3.  Portland will host Vancouver on Sunday afternoon at Providence Park.
