(Kansas City, MO)  --  The Mariners jumped out to an 8-0 lead and held on for an 8-5 win over the Royals at Kauffman Stadium.  Mike Montgomery picked up the win against the team that drafted him by allowing one run while pitching into the seventh inning.  Robinson Cano and Adam Lind each homered for Seattle in a five-run seventh inning.
