Mariners' Clevenger Apologizes For Tweets

(Seattle, WA)  --  Seattle Mariners backup catcher Steve Clevenger is apologizing for two tweets he sent out about police shootings and protests.  The tweets, which were issued yesterday, referred in particular to the protests happening in Charlotte, North Carolina.  One tweet called the Black Lives Matter movement and President Obama "pathetic" and said "everyone involved should be locked behind bars like animals."  The Mariners later released a statement, saying they "strongly disagree with the language and tone" of Clevenger's comments.
