LSU knocked off by Auburn Saturday, 18-13 fired head coach Les Miles yesterday after 12-plus seasons. The ‘Mad Hatter’ as he was known won one National Title and lost another and has a career 114-34 record in Baton Rouge making him the 16th winningest coach in S-E-C history. Former USC interim Head Coach, Ed Orgeron (orge-err-on), takes over.

Meantime, there are rumblings in Eugene that may cost Oregon Coach Mark Helfrich his job soon, too, if things don’t change after the Ducks suffered their 2nd straight loss Saturday falling to Colorado, 41-38.

Oregon hasn’t lost two in a row since 2007 and the Duck defense gave up 600-plus yards in total offense to the Buffaloes. It was Colorado’s first win in Eugene since 1967. The Ducks, 2-2, head to Pullman Saturday to face 1-and-2 Washington State Saturday night at 630pm.

Elsewhere...Boise State defeated the Beavers 38-24. Stanford escapes the Rose Bowl with a 22-13 win over UCLA. The Huskies beat Arizona 35-28. Arizona State upsets Cal, 51-41 and Utah rallied for a 31-17 win over USC Friday night.
