No more Billy Goat, no more Bartman, no more black-cat curses. The 108 year-old curse is over as last night the Chicago Cubs went extra innings and outlasted Cleveland beating the Indians 8-7 in 10-innings to win the World Series in a deciding 7th game.
Ben Zobrist was named the Series MVP leading the Cubs to the Championship. Chicago was the first team since the Royals in 1985 to overcome a 3-games to one deficit in the World Series.
After defeating San Francisco and the Los Angeles Dodgers in the playoffs, Chicago became the first team to earn a title by winning Games 6 and 7 on the road since the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates.
