We start with prep basketball and the first full week of preseason action underway. Last night a thriller on the west side of town as the Summit Storm hang on for a 56-52 double-overtime win over North Medford.

The Storm off to a 3-and-0 start were led by Russell Wells who scored 11-points and Cam Baker added 10-points and hauled in a dozen rebounds.
Summit’s travels to Eugene this weekend to meet Corvallis and LaSalle in a tournament hosted by Marist.

Elsewhere…In Prineville, Ridgeview notched its first win by handing Crook County its third straight loss, 44-36. La Pine had no answer for hot-shooting Mazama as the Vikings sank 11-three pointers enroute to a 73-52 win.
La Pine, 2-2, will travel to Portland for a 3-day weekend Tourney and will face Class 3-A power and 2-time State Champion Cascade Christian tomorrow night.

On the girls side last night…the Lady Storm suffered their first loss as North Medford defeated Summit, 56-38 and Mazama ran past La Pine, 59-28.
