(Eugene, OR) -- University of Oregon is naming Willie Taggart its next head football coach. He leaves South Florida to replace Mark Helfrich, who was fired last week following a 4-and-8 season. Taggart has spent the last four years at USF, guiding the Bulls to a school-record 10-and-2 mark this season. The 40-year-old was 24-and-25 overall at South Florida after posting a 16-and-20 record at his alma mater Western Kentucky. He becomes the first black head football coach in Oregon's 122-year history, and first coach hired outside the program since 1976.
