College Baseball & Softball

On to college baseball where things aren’t getting any better in Eugene and there is some speculation as to how long George Horton keeps his job leading the Ducks. Oregon dropped its 7th straight game losing to Loyola Marymount, 4-to-nothing in a non-league game in Eugene.

Oregon falls to 26-and-22 and has 7 games remaining including a 3-game Pac-12 series at USC starting tomorrow. The Ducks were picked to finish 4th place and are 9th place and would have to win their remaining games to be considered for the NCAA Regionals.

The lady Ducks softball team, on the other hand, however take over the #1 ranking in the USA Softball-ESPN Poll, and are rated third in the NCAA Coaches poll. Oregon’s women host the Eugene Regional beginning tomorrow and the Ducks, 47-and-6, meet Illinois-Chicago in their first game tomorrow night at 830pm at the new ‘Jane’…Jane Sanders Stadium on campus next to Mac Court.
