The prep State Track & Field Championships begin today at the historic Hayward Field in Eugene where the Summit Storm girls gun for an 11th straight State Title. The Finals are tomorrow. Yesterday, Culver’s
Caty-lynn Duff broke the 2A state record in the discus throw on her second heave of the day.

And…the Tennis State Finals begin today at Portland Tennis Club, Tualatin Hills, and at Oregon State University.

You can follow all the results from the State Track and Tennis events online at O-S-A-A dot Org.

ON THE DIAMOND…IMC champion Bend awaits the OSAA 1st round playoffs Wednesday. Meantime, Summit and Mt. View try to play their way in to the bracket today when the Storm host Sandy, and the Cougars travel to Hillsboro. Win, and you’re in.

Churchill is ranked #1, Crater 2nd, followed by Crescent Valley, La Salle and Wilsonville make up the top-5. There is no IMC team in the top-10 this year after Summit won it all last spring. Bend is 13th and the Storm ranked 14th heading to the postseason today.

In prep Softball matchups, Bend hosts Parkrose this afternoon and Mt. View travels to Sandy. Ridgeview hosts a 1st round Playoff game as IMC Champs on Wednesday.
