Bend Elks

Former Ridgeview All-League infielder Colin Runge (rungg-gee) laced the game-winning run-scoring triple in the 6th inning last night to break a 1-1 tie, and lead the Bend Elks past Walla Walla for a second-straight night, 5-2.

Runge, now playing college ball at Chemeketa CC in Salem followed Derek Chapman’s leadoff triple to begin the 6th inning with a 3-bagger of his own, and the Elks added 2 more runs in the 7th to start the season 2-and-oh with the win..

Former Summit cather and current Cougar, Cal Waterman, in the 6th inning grounded home Runge for the Elks only RBI’s of the game along with Runge’s.

Kris Jackson pitched the winning working 7-innings and giving up 7 hits, but allowing just 1 run while striking out 4.
