Timbers Stadium Deal Approved

(Portland, OR)  --  A deal that would expand the home of the Portland Timbers is getting the green light.  The Portland City Council yesterday approved the deal that will see the team invest 50-million dollars in Providence Park.  The investment could allow up to four-thousand seats to be added to the stadium.  "The Oregonian" reports that in exchange for the investment, the Timbers will be exempt from around five-million dollars in ticket taxes.
