Bend Elks

The Bend Elks played long ball last night in a big way as they hit three 2-run home runs in a 19-7 thrashing of Kelowna in Canada to close out a 3-game trip.

It’s the most runs of the season for the Elks who are trying to run down the southern division of the Westcoast League for a shot at the Playoffs with 9-games to play.

Rocco Ferrari belted a pair of 2-run blasts and Niko Holm capped the night off with a 9th inning dinger, his second home run in as many nights.

The Elks take the series in Canada and it’s the third straight road series win and the Elks returns home tonight to face the Yakima. The Pippins and Elks begin a 3-game series tied for third place in the South, both 4-1/2 games out of first place.

It’s 2-dollar Tuesday and admission is just 2-bucks, beverages and hot dogs only 2-dollars. Game time at Vince Genna Stadium is 6:35pm.
