High School Football

On the Pac-12 college gridiron over the weekend, the mistake-prone Ducks fall to Arizona State in the League opener in Tempe. The Sun Devils walk away with a 37-35 win snapping Oregon’s 10-game win streak against ASU.

Quarterback Justin Herbert threw for 281 yards and 3 TD’s in the loss and Duck runningback Royce Freeman rushed for 81 yards and a 12 yard TD run. It was Freeman’s 58th touchdown which ties him with LaMichael James for most TD’s in a career at Oregon, and 2nd most in Pac-12 history.

The Ducks return home after two games and host Cal Saturday night at 730. Cal played USC tough, but the Trojans left Berkley Saturday with a 30-20 win handing the Bears their first loss in 4 games.

7th ranked Washington held Colorado to just one TD as the Huskies beat the Buffaloes, 37-10. Washington State is unbeaten at 4-and-0 as the Cougars beat Nevada, 45-7. And, Stanford ran over UCLA, 58-34.
