(Seattle, WA)  --  Former Mariners slugger  Edgar Martinez did not hear his name called as one of the 2018 National Baseball Hall of Fame Class inductees.  Martinez received more than 70 percent of votes, right behind Trevor Hoffman for the final spot in the class.  Martinez came up 20 votes shy.  Chipper Jones, Vladimir Guerrero and Jim Thome were the other members who were voted into the 2018 National Baseball Hall of Fame.  Martinez has one more year of eligibility remaining to be elected into the Hall of Fame.
