The top-ranked Oregon softball team takes its first step toward the NCAA Division-I national Title as the Lady Ducks play host to the West Regionals.

Oregon, 47-and-7 overall, plays  the University of Albany at 530 in Eugene. The game is broadcast online at ESPN-3. U of O faces either Drake or BYU in round-2 tomorrow. Meantime, Oregon State, 28-and-26,  faces Wisconsin tomorrow in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Southern Oregon University of Ashland punched their ticket to the NAIA World Series in Florida next week making the trip two years in a row. SOU is the #8 rated team in the country with a 47-and-13 record.

The Lady Raiders are the 6-seed in the 10-team double-elimination Tournament. SOU faces #3 Marian of Indiana in its opening game Monday night.
