High School Soccer

We kick things off today with soccer and the prep soccer season is officially underway, and after the OSAA reclassification of schools moving to different levels, it appears it will be a tougher challenge for Summit, Bend, and Mt. View moving up to the 6A Greater Valley League.

Summit’s girl’s soccer team has dominated the 5A winning state Titles 6 of the last 8 years, but yesterday the Storm were blanked by Sherwood 5-zip. It was 3 years ago that Sherwood made the jump up to 6A, and now the lady Bowmen have found their mark and that provides some positive hope to the central Oregon teams. Summit hosts Putnam tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Bend defeated Wilsonville, 5-2, but Crook County, who elevates from 4A to the 5A ranks were shutout by South Albany, 9-nill. Crook County plays at Madras Thursday. And, in the 3A division, La Pine was blanked by Lakeview, 5-to-nothing.
