Big match on the 5A volleyball hardwood last night in Redmond where Number-2 and Number-3 clashed. Ridgeview shutout Crook County 3-zip to take over the top spot in the IMC. The two teams will meet again next month on the 16th in Prineville. In other 5A action, The Dalles blanked Redmond 3-to-nothing.

 

Meantime, in the new 6A Mountain Valley Conference, Summit and Bend who both moved up a level scored shutout wins last night. The Storm cruised past South Salem 3-nil, and Bend was a 3-zip winner over McKay. Mt. View took down McNary, 3-1.

 

Madras beat Gladstone 3-zip and Santiam Christian shut down La Pine,

3-0. Culver zipped past Western Christian, 3-nil.

 

In Boy’s soccer yesterday, McKay nipped Mt. View, 1-to-nothing. Today, Summit entertains Bend under the lights at 7p.

 

Elsewhere yesterday, Ridgeview throttled Redmond, 7-zip and Hood River blew past Crook County, 7-1. Gladstone edged Madras, and Central Linn beat La Pine both by 2-1 counts.

  • ORE 22 remains CLOSED between Idanha and the junction with U.S. 20 (milepost 53-81) following a tanker truck crash that caused a fuel spill yesterday. The road will be closed to thru traffic indefinitely for the clean up of the fuel spill and recovery of the tanker.
