(Seattle, WA)  --  Mariners shortstop Tim Beckham has been named the American League Player of the Week for his production during the first week of the season.  Beckham hit .435 along with three home runs while driving in six.  His big week helped lead the Mariners to a 5-1 start after taking three out of four from defending champion Boston.  Beckham is also tied for the Major League lead in hits with 10.
