(Portland, OR)  --  The Minnesota Timberwolves have hired Trail Blazers assistant coach David Vanterpool as an associate head coach.  Vanterpool will be in charge of Minnesota's defense as he was with Portland.  The 46-year-old was a key member of Terry Stotts' staff since 2012 and worked closely in the development of Blazers guards Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum over the past seven years.
