(St. Paul, MN)  --  Brian Fernandez scored but the Timbers fell 2-1 to Minnesota United in the U.S. Open Cup semifinals.  Portland will resume MLS action on Saturday.  The Timbers will host Vancouver.  Portland is eighth in the Western Conference with 31 points.  They are two points back of a playoff spot.
