(Foxborough, MA)  --  A former league MVP is signing with the New England Patriots.  Cam Newton has signed with the six-time Super Bowl champions, multiple outlets are reporting.  He's expected to compete with Jared Stidham for the starting quarterback position to take over for Tom Brady, who left for Tampa Bay in free agency.  The former number-one overall pick had spent his entire career with the Carolina Panthers.  The incentive-laden deal is worth up to seven-point-five million dollars, the NFL Network reports.
