(Arlington, TX)  --  Steve Cohen is closer to becoming the new owner of the Mets.  The Post reports his estimated 2.4-billion-dollar bid to buy the team has been approved by MLB's Ownership Committee.  Cohen now needs approval from 23 owners, with a vote likely after the World Series.
