(Seattle, WA) -- The Seahawks are releasing a statement after disturbing details emerged about former offensive tackle Chad Wheeler's domestic violence case. The Seahawks say they are saddened to hear about the incident and strongly condemn this act of domestic violence. The statement added Wheeler is a free agent and no longer part of the team. Wheeler was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of felony assault-domestic violence. A police report shows a woman called police after Wheeler strangled her to the point of losing consciousness.
