Most Californians Moving To Nearby Counties Or Other Parts Of State

(San Francisco, CA) -- The mass exodus of residents leaving California is largely hype. The San Francisco Chronicle analyzed data from the U.S. Postal Service and found most Bay Area moves are to nearby counties or other parts of the state. Washington state topped the out-migration numbers with roughly 12-hundred Californians leaving for the Seattle area. Almost 750 decamped to Texas, over 620 to Oregon, and close to 530 to Nevada. The option to work remotely is leading many to look for affordable housing options elsewhere while hanging on to their Bay Area wages.
