(Dallas, TX)  --  Rick Carlisle is no longer the coach of the Dallas Mavericks.  Carlisle told ESPN he let Mavs owner Mark Cuban know today he was resigning calling it solely his own decision.  The Mavericks released an official announcement not long after.  He also says it's been a great 13 years in Dallas and it was an honor working with Cuban.  The Mavs said yesterday Donnie Nelson wouldn't return as GM.  Carlisle won a title with Dallas in 2011.  He is planning to stay in coaching.
